The snow is falling outside silently as I type this, and it goes perfectly with my afternoon coffee. Today, I would like to share with you what a Waldorf winter homeschool day looks like in our household. I’ve been homeschooling for seven years now, and we are heavily Waldorf-inspired. I wanted to share what that looks like with multiple children and how it helps keep our daily rhythms running smoothly. You can check out our winter daily rhythm here if you would like to know more.

Winter Books
These are all the stories we read throughout the day. Sometimes we read a few at a time or as our day goes by the children will ask to be read too.
Main Lesson Pages
This week we are going over -at words with my 1st grader. This is an example of our main lesson pages

Play
Play is an essential part of our Waldorf winter homeschool day. I rotate toys about every month unless they are specific in continuing to play with the toys. Play is the perfect exhale for children.

Nature
We got a lot of snow over the weekend so we played for a little bit in the snow until we couldn’t handle the cold anymore.

Art
Today, for our art, the children chose watercolor paints while we sipped our hot chocolate from our play in the snow. This is one of my favorite things to do with my children, especially during the winter months.

Thank you for joining us in our Waldorf winter homeschool day. I hope it inspires you in your homeschool during these cold months.
