Homeschool Room Tour for Multiple Children

A room dedicated to your homeschool is not necessary to be successful. We use a wall in our finished basement. It works for us. We needed something to work for limited space and on a budget. But, most importantly, this wall is dedicated to art projects, math equations, and all the things we need and want to know about our world. Meanwhile, I knew I wanted to redecorate it this summer for the new school year. I am homeschooling two children and needed to make sure there was plenty of space for them to learn. Above all, I wanted to make sure the decor was minimal and easy to access for them. Especially, since it’s their space. This is our official homeschool room tour.

Homeschool Wall

In our homeschool space, we use one wall. We have limited space in our basement. I wanted a space for their homeschool and for their artwork to be displayed. So, I found these cork board tiles and they work wonderfully for our space. In addition, I wanted them to be able to reach all of the stuff on the wall.

We use this wooden pencil holder from Target for all our pencils, markers, pens, glues, and scissors. I didn’t want to crowd the table. Children succeed more when there is less around them. This table is the perfect size for all of us to complete our homeschooling days. That is to say, we spend most of our days here.

I needed a whiteboard that was big enough for both of the boys. This was the perfect size for us. We also wanted to display our read alouds and manipulatives. Therefore, ledge shelves are every homeschooler’s best friend.

Maps were a must this year. I kept finding myself needing them for my 6th grader. So, I found these on Amazon for a great price for both. I also found the frames there as well. With this cabinet space we have our nature trays and a little coffee station for those long days.

Organization

In our basement we have counters that hold a great deal of storage. So, I cleaned them out and am using these file holders for their books and notebooks. Its a super easy and simple way to organize their books. I color code for my 1st grader to make it easier for him to find his books. This has been the best way to organize our homeschool.

Lastly, our basket for Morning Basket. I wanted to keep this simple and easily accessible for the children. They choose each morning how they want to start our homeschool day.
