It’s overwhelming and frustrating, especially when trying to find something for your homeschool. Have no fear, homeschooling in a small space is possible and doable.

My Story
When I first started homeschooling my older two we were living with my parents the whole first year, due to a cross-country move and unable to find a home to fit our needs. It was hard but we made it work. I used a massive basket for their books and a shower caddy from Dollar Tree for our writing utensils. Sometimes when I look back I wonder how we even did it and appreciate how far we have come.
No School Room
Yes, I know strolling through Pinterest and seeing all the beautiful homeschool rooms can give you major FOMO but remember your homeschool is not about the room. It’s about connection and teaching your children. It’s okay NOT to have a homeschool room. You can still be successful with just your kitchen table and a basket of books.
Creative Storage
We are now in our 5th year of homeschooling and it has changed so much. I have moved our homeschool space multiple times to fit our needs. We have turned a space in our basement into a homeschool space and used a bookshelf and the floor. Now we are using our kitchen table and homeschool cart for homeschool. I also took a wall we weren’t using in our dining area for homeschool space. I love it because it’s inviting and perfect for displaying all of our homeschool needs.
Rolling Carts
One of the most popular ways I have seen many homeschool is by using a rolling cart. We use it too and its the best thing for us to keep all of our curriculum together. We can easily move it around and put it away when we are finished. This is something that fits our needs and there are so many with different sizings and shelves. You can make them however you want. This is our homeschool cart pictured below.
Bookshelves
One of my other favorite ways to homeschool in a small space is to use a 3 tier bookshelf. They are inexpensive and customizable for your length of books. We have done this too to help store our homeschool stuff. This is what we are using right now for the books we are reading in our homeschool.
