Now that June is here and our homeschool has ended, our reading is slowly changing just like the seasons. This is my favorite time of year to pull out the classic picture and chapter books for my children. Classics like Anne of Green Gable, Laura Ingalls, and The Secret Garden along with other classic fairy tales and feel-good books. The books that make you want to run in a field and be the main character. Bring me all the cottage core things. Today, I am sharing with you all the June books for kids I keep in our monthly reading basket.

Classics
These are all my favorite classics to pull out in June, just because it really romanticizes spring and summer. My first set of books is Anne of Green Gables because it is my favorite story. Here is a list from chapter books to picture books to board books.
My next favorite books for June are The Little House in the Prairie series. I specifically love The Little House in the Big Woods for this time of year.
Another favorite I want to include is The Secret Garden. It is so magical and always makes me want to read it outside under a tree.
Fairy Tales
This time of year also reminds me of fairy tales and magic. Maybe because as a child spring and summer were the best times to play outside. To embrace nature and wonder. These are my favorite fairy tales for June.
Feel Good Books
These are books that remind me of summer that I love to include in our basket throughout the month of June.
I hope you enjoy these June books for kids collection this summer! Stay peaceful!
To keep up with what books you are reading you can purchase our reading tracker here! For us, we are trying to read 100 books this summer. I wanted this to be fun for them. Something that they could keep track of and see physically how much we accomplished with our goal. This tracker contains 100 books to either color in or writes the title of the books you have read.
