September is here. The beginning of autumn and the beginning of my favorite time of year. The time when the days seem shorter and the nights darker. The cool mornings require a blanket and a cup of coffee on my front porch listening to my children play outside in the crisp morning. My absolute favorite. Today I will share with you what is in our September morning basket. It has full of September books for kids that will begin to take them on an autumn adventure.

Apples, apples, apples
One of my favorite things about this time of year is the smells the kitchen begins to create. And one of those smells is cooked apples with cinnamon. We love to pick apples and create all sorts of recipes using them. We love apple oatmeal and apple crisp. So we start to pick out our favorite recipe cards and read our favorite Apple Books to go along with them. These are some of our favorites.
Welcome Autumn
This is also the time I start to pull out just our Autumn books. Yes, I keep our holiday books put away. I do this to keep them fresh and well-loved for the new season. So at this time, I pull out books that talk about Autumn and the season changing.
Activities
To go along with these books there are autumn activities I love to do. Some of these activities are included in the books above. One is to make an apple pie and use the recipe from How to Make an Apple Pie and See the World. Another is to go on a nature walk and identify the trees and leaves in Countdown to Fall. These are both simple and fun activities to do with your kids that can easily become a tradition like it has for my family. I also have 10 Fun Fall Activities For Kids posts with different ideas to celebrate Autumn.
To kick off our new month and this particular season I also have my children fill out their new calendar page. I keep them blank for you to add whatever holidays, pictures, drawings, and stickers. You can purchase them here. For my readers and to celebrate autumn use the code autumn20 for 20% off the calendars!
I hope your September is wonderful and amazing just as you are! Enjoy these September books for kids! Stay peaceful!
