Waldorf-Inspired Kindergarten Curriculum

Waldorf-inspired kindergarten homeschool curriculum

Here we go again. When I first started this blog I had a kindergartener and 4th grader and now I have another Kindergartener, 4th grader, and 9th grader. Time has gone by so fast. I am a homeschooler and firmly believe that our children all learn differently. So this time around for kindergarten we are taking the Waldorf route. So today I will be sharing a Waldorf-inspired kindergarten curriculum.

In a traditional Waldorf setting, the kindergarten classroom very much matches that of a home. Kindergarten in Waldorf is between the ages of 4-6 and the focus is life skills and play. My kindergartner needed something gentle and I found Waldorf was going to be the best style of learning for her. The thing is the Waldorf curriculums I found were very expensive and something that just did not fit in our budget. So I researched and read many books, which I will share below, about Rudolf Steiner and Waldorf’s teachings. That’s where this post comes in. I wanted to share an easy way of how you can still teach a Waldorf-inspired kindergarten curriculum on a budget. So first I will share the many resources I did find, then share what the curriculum looks like.

These are just some books I found helpful in learning about the Waldorf style.

With Waldorf, they are very much about establishing the daily rhythm. So that is how we proceed in our homeschool for my kindergartener. For each week I complete this planning sheet down below with whatever story I find will work for us or if there is anything particular I want her to learn. This is our first week as an example. You can grab your free sheet here.
